Discovered in Sepotember, it is called the 1882-CC VAM 2D ( a version of the 2C) and has some significant die gouges around the DO in DOLLAR.

Here is the listing with description. No photo of the die gouges yet.

To see the doubled 882 and lip counterclash see VAM 2C.

I saw the discovery piece in Santa Clara last weekend. Don't have one yet. Pic's should be posted on Vamworld in a couple days.

No, but I've got a hammer and chisle and can create any kind of VAM you need.

Here is the main diagnostic. The gouge coming of the L on the reverse. I was able to photograph the discovery piece on-site in Santa Clara. There is also an interesting die scratch on the obverse from the U in Pluribus across to the dot left of UNUM.

I just purchased an 1882-CC GSA dollar and a 1880/79-cc rev of 78 in a GSA holder. Will be picking them up 12/03. Now i will have to check for the new variety. I will keep you posted.
