Bob,
Thank you sincerely for following up on my 1873-CC Seated Liberty Dollar article. Such participation and interaction among members of all skill and collection levels is exactly what we were looking for when we came up with the idea for the Coin of the Week project.
I am honored that you took the time to tell us about your spectacular coin. I am thrilled to own an AU-50 example and can only imagine how special your uncirculated coin is when viewed in person. Would you mind posting a couple photos or a little history about your piece?

Belay,
I just had a chance to re-read and catch up on some more Carson City forum additions, and I have been missing so much! Your contribution of this fact filled report on the 73-CC Dollar was so "right on the Money and I keep going back to re-read it!!!"
Does anyone on our Forum own an example of this 73-CC Dollar date in a PCGS or NGC holder in a Poor to Good grade? ( price grades in which I may possibly afford???) I do not have any pop reports handy in my travels.
Deepsouth.....

Deepsouth,
NGC has reportedly graded two coins in the range of VG. PCGS has certified none below Fine. Good luck locating one of the two VG examples. I would imagine their owners are reluctant to give them up.

Thanks Rusty, and others for your response to my first posting. I agree 100%, Rusty with your estimation of the known existing mint state 1873-CC Seated Liberty dollars. You are correct that the coin I am caring for is the Bareford/Sonnheim coin. Since I specialize in Seated Liberty Dollars, I obviously have only FOUR coins on which to focus on within our club. However as I keep reading issues of Curry's Chronicle, my skin is beginning to itch for some reason. Maybe I'm getting a bug! Hummm? Four out of 111 is not a high percentage. Weimar thinks I should challenge myself with attempting a 10-piece denomination set.
Although I have this great 73-CC dollar, I'm not a person with deep pockets. I have got this coin is a story in itself and I probably should write about it. I'm not sure if there is much technical information that I could share since there are so many in our club like yourself that have so much more knowledge.
I'm actually going to the Chicago ANA, my first show in decades so I'm looking forward to meeting with you and others.

Hi Bob
Your "story" on how you happen to acquire the prestigious Bareford/Sonnheim "CC" seated dollar and it's three "CC" dollar counterparts sounds like it'd make a fascinating article.
Every C4OA member (and guest readers) would love reading your article(s). With FOUR coins of that stature, you are more than qualified to contribute article!
Many of us C4OAers don't have deep pockets but like you Bob, have stories to tell about how we have made our "CC" acquisitions.
No matter, every story from every passionate "CC" fan makes for great reading. Many have already shared their amazing stories and we all can't wait to hear yours.
So, scratch that itch...we've all had it...we'll all get it again ...and write your article...we can't wait to see it!
