True story. That same picture was in a book on the Comstock that I read some years ago, the title escapes me now, but it had him inspecting the progress of one of his mines. He and John Mackay, his partner, would at times don miners clothing and go down for a first hand look as to see the direction things were shaping up.

I also have one of these collectible posters in mint condition. I am going to have it framed as well. When framing something very valuable, I have been informed to use a special glass that will prevent sunlight from fading or distorting the colors. When the poster is framed, I'll post a photo.

Thanks for showing us your framed poster Mitchell. And thanks to everyone for the information and history.

Although plenty of the "Last of a Legacy" standups were printed, I would not count on them as being available. Of course, exact numbers are impossible to come by, my personal census (so far) is 8 reported to me.

I have seen posters in mint condition to used-with-minor-damage. Regardless, if you do happen to see one, I'd move fast to land it before I beat you to it.

Prices? Well, I've already sent out the ebay link. Private sales of posters have been with different numbers, most less with some much less. I have heard reports of owners of mint condition standups rejecting offers in the low 4 figures by eager would-be buyers.

Your mileage will vary.

Here's another item of interest for Carson City GSA Dollar collectors. I wonder what year and condition the coin could be?
