Trish (aka PMK),
I'm happy to see you're getting so active on the Discussion Board! And I have to say, we're definitely on the same page when it comes to colorful coins. I have a beautiful purple-and-electric blue 1883-CC Morgan, and the reverse is blast-white.
Keep up the posts!
Maya

Hi Maya
I have seen some of your toned "CC" beauties and I love the color too.
pmk 700(Trish) would flip to see them!

Garryn,
An excellent, technically detailed article Garry. The Trade Dollar is such an interesting coin with a special history like no other denomination. It's very reason for existing in the first place is unique among US coins. Furhter, what other 19th or 20th century US coin can claim such a large extant population with Chinese chop marks?
Anyone from the C4OA would be hard pressed not to quote James Sneddon when writing about Trade Dollars. His nowledge on the subject is encyclopedic. Too bad he does not participate on the internet. He would have enjoyed your article in particular.

Maya loves toned coins... particularly purple, as if one cannot get the hint with her purple text lettering. : )
