Thank you for reminding about the Auction Prices that are listed on the Forum. For some reson, I kept forgetting that we have this information at our finger tips.

Over the weekend I was at the Santa Clara show. I was across from a coin dealer's table and saw he had an 1877-CC $20. So I took some photos to share.....

My guess would be an AU-55. Nice coin but the image is even better.
Very good photography. It looks like there were two lights used,
which means you were there set up for photography.

I had my own table there for imaging, saw about 6 or so forum members and shot about 150 coins or so. Next weekend I will be setup at the Michigan State show in Dearborn. Keep your fingers crossed, I should be seeing a very cool CC piece out there.

What a difference an image makes! The 1877-CC $20 is in a PCGS holder.
Genuine AU Details. Price: $2,475. The image that is posted on the dealers listing is flat and dark, which makes this coin look dull. I have seen that image before and it did not impress me at all. The obverse has a fingerprint mark that must have come from the holder.

Your image makes this coin come alive. Did you photograph this coin through it's holder?

There a few dents on the rim of the coin below the date. Could that be the problem that put this coin into a Genuine holder?

The main difference is the owners site is a scan and mine is a photo. Due to volume they have a method to quickly scan their images.

My image is though the slab, about 99% of images you see from me are through the slab, I rarely image raw coins.

I need to go back and look at the genuine code to see what it was for. The dings could be it. It didnt strike me as coin with major issues.
