C4OA Lifer!
CURRY'S CHRONICLE Winter 2009 issue was created by coindrummer
Hooray to us C4OAers for a fabulous winter 2009 issue of the Curry's Chronicle!
I just got my issue today (on infamous "black Friday") and have already read it cover to cover. I'm just about set to begin my second of many readings.
Once again, the article contributions are standouts. I just cannot image how any impassioned "CC" collector or fan could not be a member of the C4OA.
Keep up the good work one and all!

Loosechange here in NH. Just received my Curry's Chronicles winter 09 edition. Super edition as usual. Thanks Belay Off for sharing your memories of the C4OA regional meeting and coin show at our favorite mint. Still looking forward to another visit out west for the 2010 show.
Thanks,

Reporting from Ilinois, the observations on the ANA Convention from Maya and the C4OA meeting in Carson City by Belay Off were great, as well as the accompanying photos. Here are some comments about Jim Sneddon's great article on the 1870-CC dollar. I originally posted it in the Coin of the Week thread of the same coin. Some of it is still there, but this part best belongs here.
While reading Jim Sneddon's excellent article about the 1870-CC Seated Liberty dollar in the Winter 2009 Curry's Chronicle, I was surprised to learn there are ten die marriages for a coin with such a low mintage. Is it possible they were testing various reverse dies on the 1870-CC and then saved them to be used in later years?
As a side note, is the reverse of Bob Lindstrom's 1870-CC visible in the bracelet? Are there some close up photos of it? Assuming Bob's specimen is from the first die combination, if we did a population report from the members, we could determine what other members have coins from the first die combination. I talk about a possible population report on 1870-CC dollars in the Coin of the Week thread.

Garry,
I don't remember whether the reverse of Bob Lindstrom's 1870-CC dollar is visible, but I know that Rusty also has a presentation piece 1870-CCdollar. Maybe he can tell us what the die marriage is on his.

I just finished reading my Winter 2009 issue. Either you guys are fast readers or you have more free time than me.
I particularly enjoyed Rusty's piece on his 1876-CC 20 cent pieces. I was lucky enough to be in the store when Rusty returned with his purchase of the last coin and was able to view and hold all three coins. I knew it was special at the time, but I had no idea how special. I would have liked to buy one but my credit card was maxed out.
Rusty since you were so interested in the 1876-CC 20 cent pieces, I have a very rare 1877-CC 20 cent piece you might be interested in which I was able to get for a steal on ebay.
