For all you antsy C4OAers-
The winter 2009 edition of the Curry's Chronicle is in the mail! We were able to get it out nearly two weeks early!
Even with this early release, please remember that our printer is in Minnesota, and the journals are sent out in bulk-rate mail. This means that if you've changed your address without notifying the club, your journal will NOT be forwarded, and will NOT be returned to us. (You'll have to purchase a back issue of the journal if this happens--check out the how to do this by clicking "Curry's Chronicle" link on the left menu.)
For those of you who haven't changed your addresses, I would expect your journal sometime in the next 2-3 weeks, depending on where you are in the country.
Hope everyone has a wonderful Thanksgiving,
-Maya

Just received my copy of Winter 2009, Curry's Chronicle and of course had to read it right away. As always a lot of good and interesting information.
Maya's account of the ANA convention and C4OA Annual meeting reads like a travelog, "Wish I was There". New variety of Half Dollar by John Crane, new hub for a chopmarked 1877-CC Trade Dollar by James Sneddon are the bits of information that are on "the cutting edge" and are found in this issue.
The other two points that got my attention were, James Sneddon's casual mention that his collection has over 300 $20 gold pieces
(very impressive) and that Rusty Goe in 2009 had three 1876-CC 20c pieces (even more impressive).
After reading about all the high priced transactions at the auction sales, I have a question. When someone wins big at a casino or at a racetrack the IRS is there to collect their share right away. When a high priced coin is sold at one of the auctions, are the IRA agents there to collect their share on the spot, too?

John,
Thanks for posting. You're the first we've heard about who has received their Chronicle. I'm glad it got to you so quickly.
Thank you for your warm thoughts about my article, I always appreciate the feedback I receive, but I know that its professional appearance is largely due to the editor, not me!
Have a good Thanksgiving,
Maya

I've received mine too! Except that I'm 1,500 miles away and it's sitting back at home in my mail box.
By the way...we've recruited one and possibly two C4OA members to post on our Coin of the Week project. I'm not tellin' who though...
