RE: Latest edition of Currys Chronicle;

In John McCloskey's rarity comparison chart of pricing for 1871 vintage Carson City coins, I can fill in one of the chart's blanks..well, sort of.

I own an 1871-CC Half Eagle in a G-6 PCGS holder, for which I paid $1,495 in the not too distant past. I suspect a problem free example of this date in Mr. McCloskey's VG-8 example grade would not be priced too differently. Again, the key being "problem free".

Hi Belay, I actually penciled in your info regarding the 1871-CC half eagle in John's chart. It really puts CC coins into perspective with that kind of information how tough some of these dates are. John's articles are very informative and I look forward to each one of them.

John McCloskey's style of numismatic research is typically very detailed and always interesting. You might want to review prior issues of Curry's Chronicle for others he's written too.
