Maybe two awards could be created.

I'm not sure how I feel about separating the award. A double award might diminish its significance (ie: First Best/Second Best). When I initially suggested the award, I never imagined a question of semantics. But, the C4OA meeting next week would be an excellent opportunity to kick ideas around. Sorry, I won't be able to make it, but Boston busted the pocketbook.
In the upcoming "Currys' Chronicle", everyone receiving votes will be recognized in my article. So, no one is really overlooked. All articles, regardless of author, are what makes our publication so special.
Another point, to add to Belay's comments, is the fact that only 50 members sent in their ballots. That's only about 17% of the members. More participation could easily change the dynamics. A more diverse group of authors submitting articles could change the dynamics. As a matter of fact, this thought popped into my head, if enough members were to submit articles, we may be able to squeeze Rusty's articles out (just kidding of course). Those in depth articles of his add a lot of class to our publication.
So, let's continue the dialogue. After all, we have another year before the next award.
