Type Set of CC Gold

Three of my best (highest grade) CC gold coins.

Those are 3 great CC gold coins. I love Carson City Gold Coins even though I do collect a lot of US currency too. Since the total number of CC gold coins ever minted was pretty small, I always wondered how many have been lost forever in natural disasters (floods, fires, etc) and were even melted. Fore example - I am sure some CC gold must have migrated to SF and been in the 1906 earthquake when practically the entire city burned. Thank You.

I took a Capital holder for a gold coin type set, the kind that has a "hole" for a double eagle, eagle, half eagle and quarter eagle. I hack sawed the quarter eagle part to where it only had spots for the double eagle, eagle and half eagle. With a gold paint pen I wrote the letters "C.C." in front of "Gold Type Set" and filled the holes with a 1884 CC double eagle and an 1890 eagle and half eagle, making it a
"C.C. Gold Type Set" in a adapted Capital holder. Kinda nerdy, a little crude, but the examples of the three denominations of gold coins from the C.C. Mint all together, make up for it.
